The LBBC is a Not-for-Profit Organization for the Limestone City to offer water activities for youth and adults with a focus on developing the sports of Stand-up Paddleboard (SUP) kayak (surf ski), SUP-Rowing (SUPR) and sailing. Develop skills and fitness in these activities through innovative recreational and friendly competitive activities in a group environment. SUP/SUPR introduces individuals to boat handling, SUP paddling, safety, training and conditioning in a fun group or individual setting. Surf ski is an open water racing kayak which can be remounted if you fall off in rough water making it an amazingly safe and fun craft for progressing to racing kayaks or marathon kayak events.
This approach to a wide range of craft that can be used from novice to competitive individual provides an introduction to the sports for athletes of all ages to progress in recreational and competitive programs at our regions partner clubs for performance pathways in sport. From with kids boards and kayaks for 6 year olds all the way to high performance surfskis, try a variety of sports in a great club environment and see where it takes you!

Information about membership, schedules & programs
New in 2018 and thanks to an Ontario Community Sport and Recreation Fund Grant, the club will be introducing youth and adult recreational and competitive kayak training. This K1 development program will use surf skis to train children ages 10-16 through Sport Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development Model as an introduction to sprint kayak and progression to competitive programs and LBBC and Sydenham Canoe Club. Adults will enjoy training in the “active for life” stage of the LTAD and may wish to progress to join our Marathon Racing team which competes all across eastern Ontario and the USA on rivers and lakes in races from 10-100km in length.
Dates for the program to begin are currently dependent upon the arrival of the grant funding but likely will begin mid to late July.
Kids camp dates are August 20-24 and 27-31
We are also pleased to announce the arrival of our Y-Flyer fleet of dinghies which were donated by individuals all over Ontario. These sailboats will be refitted over the next year and we will be hosting various events and races during 2019 depending on funding.
